San Diego Gas & Electric and the two community choice aggregators operating in its territory, Clean Energy Alliance and San Diego Community Power, announced Thursday that they are rolling out what they describe as the state's first integrated customer portal.

The new site, MyEnergyCenter.com, is scheduled to go live Sunday. It will take the place of SDG&E's existing My Account portal. Officials said the platform is designed to give customers a clearer view of their bills, including detailed cost breakdowns, so they can better manage how much power they use.

Community choice aggregation lets cities, counties and other agencies buy electricity on behalf of their communities, while SDG&E continues to deliver that power, according to the utility. Together, Clean Energy Alliance and San Diego Community Power currently serve more than 80% of customers within SDG&E's service area.

Among the features planned for the portal are a transparent breakdown of fees and charges, an analysis of energy usage and integrated options for paying bills. The site will also carry over some functions from the current My Account system, such as scheduling gas appliance checks and notifying SDG&E of address changes.

SDG&E CEO Caroline Winn said in a statement that the new experience "showcases our shared commitment to deliver transparency alongside award-winning energy reliability." She added that the providers are committed to working together to offer shared customers "increasingly clean, safe and reliable electric service."

Greg Wade, CEO of Clean Energy Alliance, said the partners recognize "the power of customer-oriented collaboration." He said the effort draws on the organizations' combined strengths to create a more user-friendly platform that will help support a renewable energy future for the region.

Karin Burns, CEO of San Diego Community Power, said her organization remains committed to giving customers the tools to make informed electricity decisions for their homes and businesses. Working with its partners, she said, the goal is to improve the customer experience, make bills easier to understand and help customers use that knowledge to save energy and money.

The utilities said My Energy Center includes security measures to protect customer information.

Existing users will be able to sign in directly at MyEnergyCenter.com beginning Sunday using their current My Account username and password. They can also reach the service through the MyEnergyCenter mobile app. Account histories, data and bill payment methods previously stored in the My Account portal will be transferred to the new system automatically.
