Pueblo residents will experience a sharp change in weather this weekend as a cold front moves through Colorado on Friday, Oct. 23. The city’s forecast shows a high of 80 degrees and a low of 52 degrees for Friday. By Saturday, temperatures will fall, with highs reaching only the 50s. This represents a 30-degree drop in daily maximum temperatures over the two-day period.

Morning conditions in Pueblo are expected to start in the 50s with breaks in the clouds. Sunshine is predicted to emerge around 10 a.m. as morning clouds clear along Interstate 25. The front is advancing from the west and will bring additional cloud cover to the area. While the chance of rain on the south side of Pueblo is estimated at 10% to 20% on Friday, wet weather becomes more likely over the weekend.

Surrounding communities face varying conditions as the front passes. Canon City may see a few afternoon showers, with rain chances between 20% and 30%. The forecast high for Canon City is 75 degrees and the low is 49 degrees. Woodland Park is expected to reach a high of 58 degrees and a low of 39 degrees. Afternoon clouds will follow earlier sunshine in Woodland Park, with rain chances arriving for the weekend.

Further south, Walsenburg and Trinidad are forecast to reach 73 and 74 degrees, respectively, with lows of 49 degrees. Friday is expected to be the warmest day for these cities over the next seven days. Weekend highs in these locations will also drop into the 50s. The eastern plains could see thunderstorms return by Friday evening after a sunnier start, with afternoon temperatures in the 70s and 80s and lows in the 50s.

Mountain areas are forecast to have highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s. Lingering moisture and flooding remain concerns in southwestern Colorado, where water levels may take time to recede. Conditions are expected to become calmer next week, with sunshine and partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will gradually warm into the 60s. The preliminary Halloween outlook calls for temperatures in the 50s and 60s and dry weather, though that forecast could change.
