The company began stable software updates on October 23, shifting its top devices to ColorOS one week before its planned deadline.

OnePlus began delivering stable Android 17 updates to the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 on October 23. The rollout started in India, where the new software is known as ColorOS 17. This release marks the first time these devices have received the update outside of beta testing.

The software was originally scheduled to launch on October 29. By moving the date forward, the company began the process roughly a week earlier than planned. The update is built on the Android 17 base and was available to beta testers for some time before this stable release.

This change concludes the use of OxygenOS on these specific models. OxygenOS served as OnePlus's custom interface for years. It started as a light modification of stock Android but later became a global version of Oppo's ColorOS. The shift was expected after OnePlus scaled back its global operations and announced it would phase out the older software brand.

The company described the new interface as a tool to make technology feel more natural. In a statement, OnePlus said the update brings "smarter experiences" and "smoother interactions." The company framed the goal as allowing users to "Flow with AI" and move between tasks with less friction. The aim is to help users turn ideas into finished work using artificial intelligence features.

The OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 are the only devices included in this initial wave. Other models, including the OnePlus 13 and various Nord devices, are confirmed for later updates. The next group of phones will receive the software on October 30.

The move follows a period of restructuring for the brand. Reports indicate that the OnePlus 15 and other models sold out in the United States after the company reduced its global footprint. The company has also introduced the OnePlus 16, which features a 9,000 mAh battery.

OnePlus has not confirmed specific dates for the software to reach other regions. The company stated that the update is expected to arrive in other markets in the coming days.
