Obama pegs Iran war cost at $2T while backing Acton in Ohio
The former president appeared alongside Amy Acton and Sherrod Brown at a Saturday rally for Democratic candidates.

Former President Barack Obama put a $2 trillion price tag on the US-Israel war with Iran at a Saturday rally in Ohio, telling voters the conflict was an unnecessary war that nobody asked for. He addressed a crowd there to support Democratic candidates on the ballot in November.
Obama framed the midterm contest as a referendum on President Donald Trump's term. After two years of chaos and cruelty and corruption and incompetence, the likes of which we have not seen in the modern era, you get a chance to say, 'Enough is enough,' he told attendees.
Obama also turned to Ohio's gubernatorial race and an advertisement run by Republican nominee Vivek Ramaswamy. The spot features Donna Arthur, the mother of Democrat Amy Acton, disputing her daughter's account of a childhood involving homelessness and sexual abuse by her stepfather. Acton has said she has not seen her mother since 1978, and her brother has supported her account. The stepfather, who died in 2004, was charged with rape. Obama said of Ramaswamy that there is no line he will not cross, no low he will not sink to.
Obama shared the stage with Acton and former Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown, who is running against incumbent Republican Senator Jon Husted. Polls give Democrats a slight lead in both Ohio races, and results are expected to close.
Voting in Ohio's midterm elections is scheduled for November 3.
